How to add an Expert Advisor (EA) to MetaTrader 5

To add an EA to MT5: #

1. Download the EA file to your computer, it’ll be in an EX5 or MQ5 format.
2. Open the MT5 platform and navigate to files on the top menu.
3. Click on “open file data” on the files menu.
4. From the file window shown, click on MQL5, then click on Experts.
5. Copy and paste the EA file into this folder.
6. Navigate back to the MT5 platform, open the navigator window.
7. Right-click on “Expert Advisors” and click on “Refresh” and the installed EA will be displayed on the list.

• The simplest method is to double-click or drag and drop an Expert Advisor from the navigator to a chart.
• The Expert Advisor Properties window will appear after dragging it to a chart.
• To begin using the Expert Advisors on the chart, click OK.
• The name of the Expert Advisor and the icon will be displayed in the top right corner of the chart if it was successfully launched.
• If the icon is displayed, then you’ll need to run the setup again.
